Original Title is original!
So, I mentioned a while back in one of my journals that I had A SHART TON of fabric that I needed to make stuff out of and sell. This is the lovechild of some of that fabric. Just the tippy top of the iceberg. Goodness.
This weekend, instead of working on other stuff like I should have been, I drafted this pattern and made this skirt! It is steampunk and burlesque inspired. It features an interesting multiple blues satin fabric that has black tulle over the top of it, and just regular black shiny fabric that I really have no name for other than a recycled curtain haha. (I can be creative when I want!) It is a full skirt that opens in the front and has 3 layers of bustle ruffles, and LOTS of volume. I wanted the edges to be rough (except for the full skirt layer bottom- too high traffic of an area for that) and just zig-zagged the seams to finish them. I really love the effect it created. I wish you could see it better! The waist size of this is 35-36 inches (it has some leeway) and the length of the skirt beginning at the bottom of the waistband is 18 inches. It closes with two buttons and two hook-and-eye clasps on the inside. There is minimal overlap of the skirt layer; it was meant to show some leg!
My sewing machine temporarily hated me after making this. But then he loved me again, and all was well in the world.

That is a gorgeous bustle! Black and blue is one of my favourite colour combinations.
